Plan Ahead to Make the Right Decisions
While no one knows the exact impact of a potential pandemic or a bioterrorist threat, experts agree that everyone should expect and be prepared for the worst. In response to these needs, we have developed a series of training and workshop on Pandemic influenza to help you prepare.
Pademic Influenza Awareness and Planning
The courses examine elements of a comprehensive pandemic response plan, including prevention, continuity of learning and continuity of operations. In addition to an overview of the four phases of emergency management, the course explains the World Health Organizations alert system and how it relates to the National Response Plan. Also, the course provides school personnel information about biological emergencies, including the history of pandemic influenza, the outbreak in 1918 and the current H5N1 “avian influenza” pandemic alert. At the end of the course, participants should have the knowledge and tools to begin collaboration towards the development of a basic infectious disease response plan. |
